This is the gas tank bracket and seat mounting bracket for 1969-71 CT70's. 1972 is a one year only bracket because it does go under the seat mounting bracket with the same smaller hole for the plastic gas tanks. So picture this if you can. 1969-72 were all plastic gas tanks. 1969-72 all have a small gas hole. The 1972 is one year bracket all by itself because it extends out under the seat bracket with the small gas hole. In 1973 they went to a steel tank and the gas hole became larger. You will want to sand blast your old one and repaint it because the one available from Honda is for 1973 and up and will not fit 1969-72 unless you want your gas tank slopping around. This bracket is instrumental in holding your gas tank down. This also applies to the seat mounting bracket. I found this out the hard way so please listen to me. If you have any questions I will be glad to email you. |

Almost done after six months of working in my spare time. It's not hard to restore one of these little bikes back to mint condition just time consuming and expensive. I will have about $4,500.00 invested in this one not counting any labor. Hard to believe the parts cost as much as they do for a thirty year old mini bike. I should have it complete in a couple weeks so please stop back to see the finished pictures. |

If you have a Honda Mini and need a title for it, C.A.R. Classic Automotive Registation in Cleveland, Alabama can fix you up for $75.00 pre 1975. If you would like to get more info call them at 1-888-878-1172.

This is the
reproduction tail lamp assembly and not the Honda one. I chose this one
because the Honda part is $60.00 and the reproduction was $20.00 from Northeast
Vintage Cycle . The reproduction has a
black wire but was easy to paint green like the original. I think if you
paint the black wire green it looks just as good as the $60.00 Honda
part. We are now selling seat covers for CT70 and Mini Trail Z50 bikes. Please email us for prices and installation instructions. |

If you are lucky enough to have your original seat make sure to send the seat studs (along the bottom of the seat) with everything else to get chrome plated. These studs were originally chrome plated to make them last for years. Bill at Northeast Vintage Cycle now has the correct seat studs, seat covers, seat pans with entire seats coming soon. I find Bill to be honest, courteous, fast, and best of all, the lowest prices I can find for these parts by far. |

I like coming to your site because you save me time & money. I have bought from the sources listed on your web site and can say they are great people to buy from. Jack at www.dratv.com gets his orders out the fastest while Mike & Bill at Northeast Vintage Cycle have some great hard to find parts at the lowest price anywhere. I've had lots of trouble getting parts out of Texas so if you can please post this to let the people know. Max Rosenthal Ohio

The muffler is still available from Honda with all mounting brackets and covers. Why would you want to get it from anywhere else and pay shipping. Get my assembly parts manual, make a list of the Honda part numbers, go down to your local dealer and order the parts. This way you don't pay any shipping and your dealer will probably give you a discount. The chrome engine guard and spark plug guard are not available from Honda and will have to be chrome plated. |

I
highly recommend brand new gas lines for anyone rebuilding a carb or doing
a complete restoration. These gas lines are still available from Honda
along with the end clips so they are easy to get. I have rebuilt six carbs
now and if new gas lines are not used old dried gas from the lines will
get into your new carb rebuild and you will have to tear it down again to
clean it out. These old original gas lines also have lost their grip and
let gas leak from the carb fitting. For the ten bucks I think they cost it
is the only way to go.

This throttle assembly is a little confusing for me to try to explain in words. So I suggest you have your assembly manual out for this one. Make sure to grease all the metal parts in the throttle grip under side. I always use a piece of wire to string the wires through the handle bars. Especially when putting the horn button wire in the handle bar tube. Feed a wire up the handle bar opening at the center of the handle bar tube, then grab it with a pair of tweezers and pull it out, connect it to the end of the horn button and pull the wire back down out the lower hole. Same goes for doing the gas lines. You are going to need to hook a wire to the end of them before you will be able to feed them out below the air cleaner opening. |

Do not use grease on the rubber grip when trying to slide back on. I use soap and water as a lubricant because the soap and water dries up and won't let it come back off. To get it slid all the way down I stand it on the floor metal portion down and pound it on with a rawhide hammer or you could use a rubber mallet. A few more after it is installed on the bike will do the finishing touches. |

Moving to the rear brake lever area of the bike I use this small screw driver under the spring to slide it over on top of the bracket. If done with care you should not even scar the paint. |
