Yellow K2 Mini Trail Restoration

This is enough nuts and bolts to do at least four bikes. We sent them to a cadmium plating shop in Texas. We recommend sending them to a professional shop before attempting to do them yourself.  Here is the address:

Texas Precision Plating, Inc
3002 Benton Street
Garland  TX     75042
972-494-1547

They came out beautiful. First they were stripped and them re-cadmium plated. The cost was $150.00 for all this which I feel is a deal especially if you have been doing them by hand.

I called a friend of mine who restores Corvettes and he told to bead blast the bolts first. Don't waste your time bead blasting because these bolts look brand new.

Keep in mine that you will have do the clean up on these bolts. These guys are not like a chrome plater who will bang out dents and make sure your parts look like new. My axle bolts were hammered on and messed up with nicks and gouges all over. Use a Dremel to clean-up before you send to have cadmium plated or you will get them back with a new cadmium plate with and old beat up look.

Just wanted to let you know that you got a great deal @ Texas Precision
Plating. They charged you $150 for 4 bikes worth of hardware and charged me
 $120 for 1.

  Update
 We have found out from
Texas Precision Plating that they have a minimum order of $95.00 and anything big like a rear sprocket or battery box has to be done differently and is extra. So what I'm trying to say is, send all the nuts and bolts from two or three bikes and you can get it done for the same as one for $95.00. If you have larger stuff like rear sprockets or battery boxes those pieces will be a little extra.
