This bike has been in my family since new. It was once owned by my cousin Bobby and I bought it 1993. Bobby had other bikes to ride and this CT70 was put in storage. It is hands down the best CT70 still alive.

This is one of five pictures Bobby sent me before I purchased the bike. Bobby rented a truck and brought the bike to my shop with his beautiful girlfriend from Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

The bike didn't start when I received it on Friday evening so on Saturday morning I took the carb off and cleaned it. The carb looks a little suspicious to me because it's too clean. Don't get me wrong, the bike is very pretty, but the carb looks to be N.O.S. goods. I will get my shop manual out later to see if the carb has the correct numbers stamped on the top to be a 4 speed carb. Anyway, I cleaned about a quarter inch worth of dried gas out of the carb bowl and much to my amaze it started right up. The thing even idled! I rode it that Saturday night for about 15 miles before putting her away for the night.

This bike is the cleanest bike we own out of 20 bikes now. The condition of this untouched original bike is amazing after 30 years. It also came with the tool kit and title. All lights work, including the neutral light and the bike rides and shifts like new. The bike has a few rattles I don't like in the headlamp area which I will look into later.

The seat is in perfect shape and is even dark black with no sun deterioration. The foam from under the seat appears to be light in color and in very good shape. The rear swing arm has a few nicks in the paint that are a little disappointing. Other than that I can find very few imperfections in the paint at all.

You can see the protective coating on the side badges is starting to curl and come off. Hard to believe this bike still has the clear protective coating over the side badges and the blue coating on the top stainless steel trim (pictured above). I know back in 1971 when I came home with mine that I took the coating off my green bike right away. The helmet lock is in working condition with no rust. |

To ride this bike is a real dream after riding some of my other bikes. I would be afraid to take this one where we take the others. I will put this one aside for special trail rides with my family. Clean, clean, clean is all I can say for this one.
