Upper shock is original and bottom completely refurbished to near N.O.S. condition.

You really can't see the quality of the restoration on these 1972 CT70 K1 front oil filled shocks. I first used the 220 grit sanding wheel we purchased from Home Depot, then polished it to a high shine. A wire brush was then used the same way we did the rear shocks on Frankenbike. The 1972 CT70 front shocks were painted with a clear coat like the aluminum brake hubs. To fill a dry fork assembly you will need 100-105cc hydraulic oil or 3.4-3.6 oz. To refill after draining use 80-85cc or 2.7-2.9 hydraulic oil.

The upper most portion of this shock assembly was sent to get rechrome plated . I used a bolt with the marking "8" on top just for the picture. The original bolt had no mark on the top of it. I will replace this bolt with the correct one later.

I have just had two Mini Trail 50 engines overhauled . The experience was great. Not only did they do a great job for the price they quoted, they responded via email to all my questions. It was great working with someone who does what they said they would do but also does it on time.

The original stator wire coming from the engine was in OK shape without cracks on this 1972 CT70 H motor so just cleaning it with lacquer thinner on a towel was good enough.

If your motor does not have the oil overflow hose, you can get a new one from Honda. The new Honda part is larger and will work fine. If you have your old one try cleaning it with lacquer thinner and you can make it look like new again.

All new case bolts, head bolts, and aluminum timing cover, valve tappet covers and carb over flow hose bracket. The jug is painted with a nice coat of glossy black just like original.

The top head cover gets all new washers and acorn nuts. The head is bead blasted to remove any and all dirt from 30 years of use and to make look factory new. Here you can see how pretty the engine cases on the motor look.

I painted the engine cases the correct silver for you with an engine rebuild. This is the new Honda clutch cover shown here. It comes with deep scratches from the new manufacturing process and must be polished and sent in for re-cadmium plating if you want it to look right.

If you have your old oil drain plugs, keep them and get re-cadmium plated because the new Honda plugs look nothing like these originals.

Ready for the install, this motor has been detailed to mint condition.
